Emerald Hills and GreyHawk Come Out On Top at the Tournament of Champions

Updated: May 31

The 2024 ClubLink Special Events season teed off in style with the Tournament of Champions, presented by Titleist and FootJoy. The event was hosted at Glencairn Golf Club on May 21, and at Club de golf Rosemère Fontainebleau on May 28.

With all 30 ClubLink Clubs represented, this tournament was a true battle of the champions, featuring teams of Men’s and Women’s Club Champions, runners-up, and a Club professional. Players received generous gifting from Titleist and FootJoy including one dozen Titleist balls, a pullover, a team hat, a towel, and a FootJoy golf glove. Not a bad haul for a day's play!

The tournament was split into two divisions: the GTA/North division and the Ottawa/Montreal division.

The action kicked off at the GTA/North division event at Glencairn Golf Club in Milton on May 21. Emerald Hills Golf Club emerged victorious with an impressive score of -9. Big congrats to the winning team: Grace Yoon, Kobe Smith, Maria Chang, Ryan MacMillan, and Emerald Hills Head Professional Aaron Beally.

After the tournament, players enjoyed a meal in Glencairn's banquet hall and were entertained by NBA-TV Canada sportscaster and ClubLink Ambassador Paul Jones.

"This is an important event for us. We have a tremendous partnership with ClubLink, and it means a lot for us to be able to sponsor this event and have all the Club Champions from all the Clubs here. Congratulations to the Club Champions on your accomplishments," said Mike Rowan, Sales Director for Acushnet Canada.

The action moved to Club de Golf Rosemère Fontainebleau in Blainville, Quebec, on May 28 for the Ottawa/Montreal division. GreyHawk Golf Club clinched the top spot with a solid score of 1 under par.

Shoutout to the GreyHawk team of Clark Russell, Emma Harvie, Greg Macdonell, Karin Lofstrom, and GreyHawk Head Professional Denis Girard.

At this year's event, 89 percent of the players trusted their game to Titleist golf balls, showcasing the brand's top-notch performance. FootJoy shoes were also a popular choice, with more than half of the golfers (54 percent) sporting them. These stats might just give some clues about what gear could give you an edge in your next Club Championship.

As players gear up for their upcoming Club Championships, we wish them the best of luck. A big thank you to Titleist and FootJoy for their continued support and sponsorship, and to Glencairn and Rosemère for hosting the Champions.
